high jumping

Waroon Dojo – (Waranjkiyeh)
Also known as high jumping, this game is considered one of the traditional boys’ games. It is typically played during the day and occasionally at night. The game is characterized by its simplicity, as it does not require large spaces or formal playing fields. It also does not require a large number of players, as it is usually contested by three players taking turns.

The game begins with two players sitting opposite each other, each placing one foot over the other to create an elevated level of about four feet. The third player attempts to jump over this height without touching the top of the feet. If the player successfully jumps over, each of the sitting players places their right hand, with fingers fully extended, on top of the feet to increase the height. If the player successfully jumps over this new level, the sitting players then add their left hands, also with fingers fully extended, in the same manner, further raising the height. The third player continues attempting to jump over the increasing height.

If the player succeeds, they earn a point. If they fail at any stage, they must switch places with one of the sitting players and perform the same steps. At the end of the game, the points scored by each player are tallied to determine the winner.

It is worth noting that the player sitting to the left of the jumper typically bends their head forward to avoid being struck, as the left leg is often positioned ahead of the right leg during the jump.
